Abstract: Studies revealed that adjustment to rotating shift works is influenced by morningness orientation of individuals. Among the morningness predictor questionnaires, composite morningness questionnaire (CMQ) and reduced version of morningness eveningness questionnaire (rMEQ) are widely used. In this article a fuzzy inference system has been developed by combining subtractive clustering method and adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system in a single framework to compare the precision of these two questionnaires for assessing morning-evening orientation of individuals. The developed model is validated through the comparison of female students in an Indian university and nurses as shift workers.
