Information Transfer System (B-I-T-S) 22B-I-T-S is a registered trademark of BIOSIS. is a monthly floppy disk product first introduced in 1984. Each floppy disk contains the results of a customized search provided to the user for royalty-free use. The history of B-I-T-S development and the current production system are briefly described. Changes in operating systems for personal computers, floppy disk capacities, and text retrieval software expectations are discussed. Some alternative production methods are described, along with future trends that may affect the production system.
