Abstract: This essay aims to show to what extent the 80s enthusiasm for entrepreneurship is based on an ideological foundation and is, therefore, useless for management scholars and managers. To say this does not mean that one is against innovative ways for business venturing, rather, what I will argue in this essay is an effort toward understanding the need for systemic, purposeful, and theoretical treatment of management. Furthermore, this paper claims for “The End of the Entrepreneurial Age”. By that I mean an increasing interest in business and society relationship. Such an interest will introduce a new perspective that I call the postmodern business.
