The perceived prestige of professional journals, 1995: a replication of the Kohl-Davis study

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to ascertain the perceived prestige of professional journals held by the deans/directors of ALA accredited schools of library and information studies and the directors of ARL libraries. The results suggest that the two survey populations hold very different views of these professional journals. This divergence of perceptions raises further questions regarding the relationship of library/information science faculty and the leadership of major library/information centers.
