The above article, originally published in Cancer Biomarkers volume 23, number 3, 2018, pp. 405–418, has been retracted from its online catalogue in consultation between the corresponding author and the publisher of Cancer Biomarkers.

Upon inspection it was found that the western blot images contain incorrect data provided by a third party company. The corresponding author has been unable to retrieve the original data from the company. Therefore the scientific data presented in this study is inaccurate.

In this light the journal cannot condone publication of this paper and has decided to retract it from its online catalogue.
