Human Systems Management (HSM) is an interdisciplinary, international, refereed journal. It addresses the need to mentally grasp and to in-form the managerial and societally organizational impact of high technology, i.e., the technology of self-governance and self-management.
The gap or gulf is often vast between the ideas world-class business enterprises and organizations employ and what mainstream business journals address. The latter often contain discussions that practitioners pragmatically refute, a problematic situation also reflected in most business schools’ inadequate curriculæ.
To reverse this trend, HSM attempts to provide education, research and theory commensurate to the needs to today’s world-class, capable business professionals. Namely the journal’s purposefulness is to archive research that actually helps business enterprises and organizations self-develop into prosperously successful human systems.

Abstract: BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 pandemic continues to endure in the construction industry. While many businesses worldwide have adapted to working from home or home-based offices, this is impractical in this sector as building activity is conducted on-site, which creates difficulties for employees in adapting to the post-pandemic setting. OBJECTIVE: This article analyzes how the pandemic has changed and affected construction firms’ human management control systems dimensions. We addressed, amidst the pandemic, how work is being performed and its effects on employees and businesses. METHODS: In this analytical research, we used chain referral sampling to perform an in-depth …interview study with top administrators of different construction firms in Colombia, and we used inferential statistics for our data analysis. RESULTS: Results showed potential sources of low efficiency and minimal control of resources, including lack of communication with employees, lack of recognition systems, centralized decision-making, and disconnection between business objectives and financial requirements. CONCLUSIONS: Construction firms must ensure workers understand the project goals adequately and be empowered to make on-site decisions provided a training program is offered. Organizations ought to connect their strategic business goals with financial requirements; these must be regularly updated and modified as the economic and labor force scenario evolves. Show more

Abstract: BACKGROUND: With the growing global influence of new coronary pneumonia and an increasing number of successful education case, spherical video-based virtual reality (SVVR) has arisen as an application for effective integration with teaching and learning. OBJECTIVE: This is a mixed-methods study on SVVR-based training for pre-service CSL teachers to more effectively develop their cross-cultural communication and interaction abilities. METHODS: An experimental strategy was adopted in this work. First, the processing of VR technology for designed TVET courses, including practical training courses, had been completed; The second experiment was a group experiment of one month; Finally, the …hypotheses were tested by an independent sample t -test. RESULTS: Based on experiment data of the learners, this study build a multi-modal hybrid training and recognition model and confirm hybrid approach effectively improves the intercultural communication abilities of pre-service CSL teachers. CONCLUSIONS: The findings of this study confirm that information technology plays an important role in pre-service CSL teacher training, and teachers should incorporate more information technology, design more hands-on interactive activities and scenarios, and take into account the individual differences of learners in the teaching process. Abstract: BACKGROUND: In today’s data-driven society, most organizations use data to streamline their processes and achieve greater efficiencies. Human resource management is also affected by this new management style. Human Resource Analytics (HRA) is a novel and emerging method for enhancing human resource management. Due to the novelty of this field, few studies have been published in HRA. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the primary research area of Human Resources Analytics (HRA) and to identify the research gaps. METHODS: This paper employs a systematic literature review methodology and bibliometric approach to analyze 91 …pieces of academic literature published between 2008 and 2022. The exclusion and inclusion criteria of the PRISMA framework were used to select the publications. Descriptive analysis, citation analysis, three field plot analysis, and level of study analysis were some of the analysis techniques used. RESULTS: The findings showed that there has been an increase in interest in HRA recently, with most of the research coming from India. Additionally, it was found that most research are carried out at the organisational level. The main areas of research are awareness and comprehension of HRA, HRA software, HRA applications, and barriers to HRA adoption in companies. The primary study needs were determined to include post-implementation effects, an examination of industry acceptance of HRA, and factors influencing the adoption of HRA successfully. CONCLUSION: This paper makes distinctive contribution to the body of knowledge on human resource analytics while also opening up fresh directions for in-depth investigation into the use of human resource analytics in businesses. Abstract: BACKGROUND: With the increasing demand for professionalism and specialization in college counselors (CCs), it is especially important to implement comprehensive professional ability building (PAB) of CCs. OBJECTIVE: This paper proposes to provide institutional support for CCs’ PAB by establishing a sound CC career development system and improving the CC salary system, in order to better support college education. METHODS: Through research interviews, literature research and expert consultation, a questionnaire survey outline is set up from subjective, objective, and institutional factors. A random sampling method is adopted to conduct a questionnaire survey on CCs and school students. …Questionnaire results are analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively in terms of reliability, validity and so on, and the influence factors of PAB for CCs are discussed. The research hypothesis is put forward, and the current situation of PAB is further summarized. RESULTS: It is found that CCs have a strong subjective willingness to build their PA, and the potential motivation of objective factors is sufficient. However, the existing system is not perfect, and job burnout such as diminished enthusiasm for work has appeared. CONCLUSIONS: Based on the existing research results, this paper combines PDCA Cycle theory with ideological and political education theory from the perspective of management science. Classical management methods are applied to the PAB system of CCs, and specific implementation countermeasures are presented according to the workflow construction model from decision-making to implementation, monitoring, and improvement. Abstract: BACKGROUND: The efficiency and accuracy of risk prediction in traditional enterprise human resource management (HRM) cannot meet practical needs. In response to this deficiency, this study proposes an enterprise HRM risk intelligent prediction model based on deep learning. METHODS: Two tasks were completed in this study. First, based on the existing research results and the current status of enterprise HRM, the HRM risk assessment system is constructed and streamlined. Second, for the defects of Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN) model, Seagull Optimization Algorithm (SOA) is used to optimize it. The Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) is introduced to promote …the SOA for its weak global search capability and its tendency to converge prematurely. RESULTS: By simplifying the HR risk assessment system and optimizing the BPNN using the SOA algorithm, an intelligent HRM risk prediction model based on the ISOA-BPNN was constructed. The results show that the error value of the ISOA-BPNN model is 0.02, the loss value is 0.50, the F1 value is 95.7%, the recall value is 94.9%, the MSE value is 0.31, the MAE value is 8.4, and the accuracy is 99.53%, both of which are superior to the other two models. CONCLUSIONS: In summary, the study of the HRM risk intelligent prediction model constructed based on ISOA-BPNN has high accuracy and efficiency, which can effectively achieve HRM risk intelligent prediction and has positive significance for enterprise development. Abstract: BACKGROUND: This article aims to perform a psychometric assessment of the scale of organizational readiness for digital innovations in a transition economy and to examine the antecedents of organizational readiness for digital innovations. METHODOLOGY: The study employed a quantitative research method to analyze data collected from a sample of 1236 health professionals. The scale secondary confirmatory factor and linear regression analysis were employed to verify organizational readiness and test the respective hypotheses about organizational readiness for digital innovation, respectively. Abstract: BACKGROUND: Transformational leadership is critical in today’s organizations from a social exchange perspective as it helps create a positive work environment, drives innovation and change, and leads to improved organizational effectiveness. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study is to test the direct effect of transformational leadership on person-job fit (PJ fit), person-organization fit (POF), and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). This study also examines the mediating role of PJ fit and POF on the relationship between transformational leadership and OCB. METHODS: This study collects data using a cross-sectional survey from professional lecturers of three selected public universities …in Southeast Sulawesi - Indonesia. A total of 221 purposively sampled responses are utilized in the data analysis. A quantitative approach with structural equation modeling (SEM) via Amos 21.0 software is used to test the proposed hypotheses. RESULTS: The findings acknowledge that transformational leadership seems to have a direct positive effect on PJ fit, POF and OCB. Also, this study reveals that PJ fit and POF have significant positive effects on OCB. This study further unveils that PJ fit and POF fully mediate the relation between transformational leadership and OCB. CONCLUSION: The results indicate that the more transformational leadership behaviors are demonstrated by leaders within organization, the more PJ fit and POF of followers will accomplish and experience with their organization, which in turn, increase OCB. It further means that transformational leadership can be crucial for recent organizations from a social exchange perspective by promoting healthy relationships and positive outcomes by encouraging followers to engage in behaviors that benefit the organization. OBJECTIVE: The objective of the present study is to investigate the relationship between Perceived Organizational Virtuousness (POV) and Workplace Happiness (WPH), mediated by Job Satisfaction (JS) for creating sustainable organizations. METHOD: Quantitative research approach was adopted following a conclusive research design. Purposive (Non-probability) sampling technique was used, …and data was collected from 470 employees from IT and ITeS sector companies of Delhi-NCR (India) using questionnaire. The statistical analysis was done using SmartPLS 4 for the data. RESULTS: The results revealed that employees, who perceive organizations as virtuous, tend to feel happy at the workplace. Also, the perceptions of Organizational Virtuousness were found to amplify the experiences of Workplace Happiness and it was also found that Job Satisfaction significantly mediates the stated relationship. Abstract: OBJECTIVE: The present study aimed to provide a talent management model for Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC). METHODS: The research method in this study is a mixed method including qualitative and quantitative methods. Qualitative data were collected through interviews with experts and informants and then analyzed by grounded theory. Then, quantitative data were collected from employees and managers and analyzed by Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis. Finally, an interpretation and conclusion were made. In the qualitative section, the research community consists of 15 managers and experts of MSC. In the quantitative section, 300 managers and experts were selected as …a sample, and questionnaires were distributed and analyzed. RESULTS: The results of the interview analysis extracted 86 concepts, which were classified into 5 categories including causal conditions, central phenomena, contextual factors, strategies, and consequences. The results of the qualitative section show that causal conditions had a significant effect on the central phenomenon (with a coefficient of 0.89). In addition, the effect of the differentiation of susceptible manpower on contextual factors (with a coefficient of 0.82) was confirmed. Contextual factors have a significant effect on strategies (with a coefficient of 0.93). The results also show that the intervening factors (with a coefficient of 0.74) have a significant effect on the strategies and the talent management process (with a coefficient of 0.92) also has a significant effect on the consequences. CONCLUSIONS: The results provide insights and practical suggestions for managers who decide to design human resource system with a talent management approach. Additionally, the findings of this research help managers to better understand the factors that have an impact on talent management. Show more

OBJECTIVE: We explored the understanding of how managers’ personality influence adoption and acceptance of social media networking websites. It caters to technology outcomes for organizations adopting faster technologies and designing their working environment under the protocols of industry 4.0. Such innovative organizations need to develop managers’ personality traits to produce …smart employees, clients, and other users who can help bridge this gap between intelligent people and smart products offered by advanced applications of IT for tourism. METHODS: We processed 406 managers’ data for analysis. RESULTS: Managers’ personality traits, except agreeableness, significantly impact the intention to adopt the technology. Technology acceptance fulfills technology outcomes, adding to the theoretical and practical body of knowledge. CONCLUSION: Dependency on technology adoption and utilization in the tourism sector is based on the willingness and innovativeness of the recruiters. Abstract: BACKGROUND: Our research offers an empirically supported contribution regarding the co-occurrence of Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCBs) and Counterproductive Work Behaviors (CWBs). Traditionally, OCBs and CWBs are considered to be mutually exclusive types of organizational behaviors. However, the same employee may engage in both behaviors, as explained by the moral licensing and cleaning theories. OBJECTIVE: The aim of the paper is to validate that the moral licensing theory (which posits that one may feel authorized to behave badly due to previous positive behaviors) and the moral cleansing theory (which posits feelings of guilt for previous negative behaviors) stand behind …the paradox of an individual member of an organization engaging in both OCBs and CWBs. METHODS: The analysis is based on the findings from a questionnaire survey conducted on a sample of employees of local government units in Poland (N = 736). RESULTS: Our results show the positive relations between moral licensing and CWBs (the Abuse and Withdrawal dimensions) and between moral cleansing and OCBs (the Altruistic dimension), thus providing empirical evidence of both theories in an organizational context. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest complex relationships between positive and negative behaviors depending on whether employees feel authorized or not to compensate for positive behaviors or feel a moral obligation to repair for negative ones. Abstract: BACKGROUND: Organizational learning capability research has been gaining more attention. OBJECTIVE: Specifically, this paper examines annual trend publication, active journals, authors, institutions, nations, keywords, citation pattern and top cited articles over the past 45 years. It decides the frequent organizational learning capability topics and highlights future research directions. METHODS: A bibliometric was performed on 149 papers published between 1978–2023 from the Scopus database. A content analysis was also performed. RESULTS: Publication trends have exhibited growth over time. Learning Organization and Industrial Marketing Management are two key journals that publish organizational …learning capability. Publications are contributed by Chiva, R. and Alerge, J. Universidad Jaume I and Universitat de València are the two main institutions that exert the influence over the publication. Spain has been contributing more publications. Citations pattern analysis revealed 158.78 citations per year and 7145 citations for 149 papers. Sixthly, publications use keywords such as “organizational learning”, “innovation”. Both highly cited articles accumulated 442 citations. CONCLUSIONS: The findings are useful for policy-makers seeking reference and evidence to guide them in designing organizational learning capability policies, implementing management actions and programs. Abstract: BACKGROUND: The concept of spirituality is gaining popularity in the business world. However, its definition remains a topic of debate within the scientific community due to variations in scope and dimensions depending on the approach used. OBJECTIVE: This paper aims to identify the fundamental properties necessary for comprehending Organizational Spirituality (OS). The primary objective is to propose a consensual definition of OS. METHODS: We conducted a systematic literature review to identify prior approaches that have touched upon the concept of OS. Subsequently, we performed a combinatorial analysis to identify varied levels of comprehension …of spirituality in the workplace, and to provide an additional interpretation to the definition of OS by corroborating it with the perspectives of managers. RESULTS: We have identified two levels of spirituality in organizational contexts: the individual level and the organizational level. We thereafter suggested a consensual definition of OS which was confirmed by professionals’ testimonies. CONCLUSIONS: Research on the subject of OS is constrained by the insufficient conceptual development and divergent interpretations in current literature. Abstract: BACKGROUND: In the current post-pandemic context, the main characteristics of workplaces have changed radically. Among the most prominent aspects of the post-pandemic workplace are hybrid arrangements, wide-spread remote work as the main work arrangement and increasing automation and robotization. These changes pose major concerns in terms of workplace wellness and occupational health and safety, primarily due to emerging or insufficiently analyzed risks in the workplace. OBJECTIVE: Especially in the post-pandemic world, where emerging risks in the workplace add to the pre-existing organizational challenges, the key to preventive and proactive organizational behavior is integration of ergonomics in …current work environments, irrespective of the type of work arrangement (remote, in office, manufacturing plants, etc.). Starting from this idea, the authors aimed to create an intervention model and to support the decision-making process to ensure successful implementation of ergonomic interventions. METHODS: The article presents a new perspective on workplace risk management and enhancement of workplace wellbeing based on a framework that encompasses workplace risk assessment, proposal of ergonomic interventions, and the managerial and financial evaluation of the proposed interventions. RESULTS: A key contribution to the literature in the field is represented by case studies on two companies, where cost-benefit analysis (CBA) was performed to assess validity of the proposed framework. CONCLUSIONS: The paper is a valuable contribution to the literature in the field of ergonomic interventions due to the innovative approach proposed by the authors. Abstract: BACKGROUND: Data-driven practices are now crucial in the digital age for streamlining operations and boosting output across a range of industries. With e-Learning emerging as a cutting-edge and promising strategy to improve educational delivery and student engagement, higher education institutions are also adopting this trend. Despite the potential advantages, e-Learning adoption in higher education is still a developing topic with scant published research. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to conduct a thorough analysis of existing literature, seeking to determine the present status of e-Learning adoption in higher education while also identifying promising avenues for further research. …METHODS: In this study, a systematic literature review methodology and a bibliometric approach are utilized to examine 63 papers sourced from the Scopus database, encompassing the years 2017 to 2021. These papers were specifically chosen due to their pertinence to e-Learning adoption in higher education institutions, following the exclusion and inclusion criteria outlined in the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) framework. The analysis techniques employed include descriptive overviews, citation analysis, and keyword co-occurrence. RESULTS: The systematic review of the literature revealed a significant increase in e-Learning adoption within higher education institutions (HEIs) in recent times. The findings highlighted several crucial factors influencing e-Learning adoption, including perceived ease of use, usefulness, learner attitude, self-efficacy, and facilitating conditions. However, further investigation is needed to better understand the impact of perceived learning and teaching styles on e-Learning acceptance in higher education settings. CONCLUSION: This study suggests conducting future investigations on e-Learning in developing countries, with a specific focus on intention, usage, adoption, and impact. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of exploring the influence of learning and teaching styles on e-Learning acceptance within higher education institutions. Abstract: BACKGROUND: “Silence” is a common phenomenon in the operation of enterprises, where some instances of silence can uphold organizational harmony, while other forms can exacerbate organizational issues, hindering intra-organizational information transfer and decision-making and affecting organizational innovation. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to explore the relationship between humble leadership style and employee silent behavior, verifying the mediating role of psychological contracts in this relationship. METHODS: Based on the social exchange theory, hypotheses are validated using descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis and the SEM structural equation modeling testing. RESULTS: The findings indicate a …significant negative correlation between humble leadership and employee silence. Humble leadership significantly inversely predicts permissive and defensive dimensions of employee silence, while the correlation with the prosocial dimension is insignificant. Moreover, psychological contracts partially mediate the impact of humble leadership on permissive silence and defensive silence among employees. CONCLUSION: The study helps managers comprehend how humble leadership, characterized by the traditional Chinese “humility” culture, affects employee silence. Especially within Chinese enterprises, where employees are influenced by traditional Chinese thought and exhibit historical dependency on silent behavior, probing whether the humble leadership style can effectively encourage employees to provide constructive suggestions for organizational development is particularly meaningful. Abstract: BACKGROUND: Given the unpredictable and turbulent times, the concept of employee resilience is gaining increased recognition within numerous organisations, as resilient employees excel in adapting to continually altering situations and recovering more quickly. Additionally, they demonstrate higher work engagement. Since employee resilience, as a personal resource, can be developed, the question is about the ways through which it can be enhanced. Similarly, when arguing that engaged employees are able to perform better, the next question pertains to the antecedents of work engagement. The previous literature provided support that human resource management (HRM) plays an important role in fostering employee …resilience and work engagement. However, the dimension of sustainability in people management has been somehow neglected. The paper tries to close the gap and, drawing on the JD-R model, explores the relationship among three constructs. OBJECTIVE: The aim of the paper is to reveal the interplay among employee resilience, sustainable HRM and work engagement. METHODS: Quantitative study. The data were collected using a survey. RESULTS: The core results revealed a positive link between sustainable HRM and work engagement. Additionally, employee resilience serves as a mediator. Abstract: BACKGROUND: Facial recognition technology can significantly benefit society if used ethically. Various private sector, government, and civil society groups have created guidance documents to help guide the ethical use of this technology. OBJECTIVE: The study’s objective was to identify the common themes in these ethical guidance documents and determine the prevalence of those themes. METHODS: A qualitative content analysis of 25 facial recognition technology ethical guidance documents published within the United States or by international groups that included representation from the United States. RESULTS: The results show eight themes within the facial recognition technology …ethical guidance documents: privacy, responsibility, accuracy and performance, accountability, transparency, lawful use, fairness, and purpose limitation. The most prevalent themes were privacy and responsibility. CONCLUSIONS: By following common ethical recommendations, industry actors can help address the challenges that may arise when seeking to develop, deploy, and use facial recognition technology. The research findings can inform the current debates regarding the ethical use of this technology and might help further the development of ethical norms within the industry. Show more

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Apart from being a topic of key interest during the last decades for its individual and organizational effectiveness, work-life balance also has specific implications during the period of imposed remote work. OBJECTIVE: The article outlines some of the antecedents of university teachers’ work-life balance. They were the only professionals teleworking during the whole period of imposed restriction and furthermore, university teachers are a group of professionals without any prior home office or remote work experience. METHODS: The cross-sectional study comprises randomized convenient sample of 708 university teachers who were administered an online …instrument, measuring the constructs of work-life balance, perceived stress, burnout, job satisfaction, general health, general fears and anxiety, and satisfaction with personal relations. RESULTS: The results reveal that perceived stress, burnout, job satisfaction, physical and mental health, psychosomatic problems and quality of relations are antecedents of participants’ work-life balance. CONCLUSIONS: University teachers have adapted to the new working mode and succeeded in maintaining moderate levels of work-life balance and burnout. However, our findings outline the need of a robust comprehensive framework, accounting for the multiple and multi-level predictors of work-life balance. Abstract: BACKGROUND: The insurance sector in Jordan stands to gain significant benefits from the adoption of Accounting Intelligence (AI) systems, which can transform decision-making processes, enhance operational efficiency, and elevate customer satisfaction. OBJECTIVE: This study investigates the mediating role of organizational culture in the relationship between three key organizational factors—top management support (TMS), information technology (IT), and organizational size (OS)—and AI system adoption (AIA) in Jordan’s insurance companies. METHODS: Using a quantitative approach, the study surveyed 274 employees from Jordanian insurance companies. The data was analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) and confirmatory factor …analysis (CFA) to assess the study’s hypotheses and ensure data reliability and validity. RESULTS: The findings revealed substantial support for the relationships between TMS, IT, OS, and organizational culture (ORC). Additionally, organizational culture emerged as a mediating factor influencing AI system adoption (AIA) adoption. However, certain direct relationships, such as ORC and AIA, and the mediating role of organizational culture in the relationship between IT and AIA, were context-dependent and lacked support. Abstract: BACKGROUND: Talent management plays an essential role as part of the HRM function in managing all employees, resulting in high performance. The role of human resources management has rapidly changed from focusing solely on recruitment, employee benefits and payroll to strategic human resources, focusing on sustaining and driving business strategies. OBJECTIVES: This study sought to determine the extent to which electronic human resource management and talent management principles were used in Jordanian universities. Additionally, it examined how electronic human resource management, including its components of hiring, training, and performance evaluation, might affect talent management in public universities. …METHODS: The study sample, which included 470 faculty members, deans of faculties, and heads of departments at Jordanian universities, was given a questionnaire. Using the statistical software SPSS, simple and multiple regression were used to test the study’s hypotheses. The arithmetic means, and standard deviations were utilized to determine the levels of application of the study variables from the faculty’s point of view. RESULTS: The results of the study revealed that the application level of electronic human resource management and talent management is medium. There is a statistically significant effect of electronic human resources management on talent management. Multiple regression was used to test the sub-hypotheses that showed a statistically significant effect of training and electronic performance evaluation on talent management and the absence of an effect of electronic recruitment on talent management. CONCLUSION: Jordanian universities use electronic human resources management for operational rather than strategic purposes. Therefore there is no need to improve the infrastructure for electronic human resources management and talent management and align that with the general strategy of universities. Show more

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Higher education industry has seen a dramatic shift in the new normal. Given that, the present study proposes learning organization as a predictor of happiness of teachers and the academic administrators because happiness is vital to enhancing performance during unprecedented times. OBJECTIVE: Drawing on the resource based view (RBV) and ability, motivation and opportunity (AMO) framework, this research aims to investigate workplace happiness of university-level educators in the post-pandemic era. It proposes learning organization as a determinant of happiness at work through indirect path of perceived organizational support. Furthermore, it also proposes moderation of achievement motivation between …learning organization and workplace happiness. METHODS: Using simple random sampling, data were collected through survey questionnaire from 172 staff and faculty members of universities/HEIs in Sindh, Pakistan. The study employed structural equation modeling through SmartPLS for data analysis. RESULTS: The study findings suggest that learning organization indirectly predicts happiness at work through perceived organizational support. However, moderation of employee achievement motivation could not be supported. CONCLUSION: Applying learning organization model and utilizing AMO and RBV theories, the study offers implications from theoretical and managerial perspectives. It proposes a holistic framework for achieving workplace happiness amidst post-COVID era. The study recommends that during times of uncertainty, the universities/HEIs may implement the model of learning organization as a strategic tool to foster happiness at work. It could result in a satisfied, committed and engaged workforce. Limitations and future research areas are discussed. Show more

Abstract: BACKGROUND: The negative consequences of Counterproductive work behaviors (CWBs) include intentional malfeasance that damages an organization or its employees. These include decreased output, increased costs, decreased employee morale and discontent. When CWBs exist, the company’s reputation and employee turnover rates may suffer. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study is to increase the current understanding of PCB and CWBs, as well as the mediating function of OC in this relationship, among higher education employees. METHODS: Using IBM SPSS AMOS, the results of the survey were analyzed. RESULTS: PCB is positively correlated with CWB-O and CWB-I, …suggesting that employee perspectives on PCB negatively influence their emotions and contribute to unethical business behavior. This study found that OC mediates the relationship between PCBs and CWBs and that uninformed organization behavior causes employees to be more discouraged and angrier and participate in CWB. CONCLUSIONS: Academic administrators must discover salary and benefit inadequacies to give incentives based on accurate performance reports, taking into consideration their bosses’ PC infractions. Therefore, institutions must promote loyalty and belonging to reduce PCB if it is poorly broken. Managers may lessen employee cynicism by stressing organizational support and listening to and rewarding employees. Show more

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this research is to examine the mediating role of Big Data Analytics (BDA) in the relationship between digital transformation (DT) and economic, environmental and social sustainability performance. METHODS: For data analysis and hypothesis testing, partial least squares structural equation …modeling (PLS-SEM) was used on 304 managers level employees in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Mozambique. RESULTS: The findings show that DT positively affects BDA in Mozambican SMEs. Furthermore, BDA positively impacts economic and environmental performance. In addition, BDA has a significant mediating role in the association between DT and economic and environmental performance. However, this relationship is insignificant regarding social performance. CONCLUSIONS: These findings have important implications for SMEs managers and policy makers, who can develop a coherent strategy to realize BDA opportunities, reduce costs and provide strategic value to improve firm sustainability performance in a post-pandemic world. Abstract: BACKGROUND: Information literacy always matters in the digital era. Upsurging research has been conducted about how information literacy influences their learning and capabilities development. However, previous literature has reached inconclusive and even conflicting results. OBJECTIVE: The present study investigates the underlying mechanism whereby the information literacy of using social media influences students’ cross-cultural social adjustment and their creativity. Further, the research explores the moderating role of personality of extraversion on students’ cross-cultural social adjustment. METHODS: A quantitative research methodology was adopted to survey international students studying at 43 Chinese public universities. Data collected from 2058 samples …from 135 countries was used to test the hypothesized statements. RESULTS: Information literacy of using social media is confirmed to positively influence students’ cross-cultural social adjustment and creativity. Contrary to the hypothesized statement, personality of extraversion negatively moderates the relationships between two dimensions of information literacy of using social media and students’ cross-cultural social adjustment. CONCLUSIONS: International students rely more heavily on IL than domestic students, which should arouse more scholarly attention since no conclusive findings have been reached. How, by whom and where to use such an important skill could generate positive effects on human development deserves continuous efforts in the future. Show more

Abstract: BACKGROUND: The macro-level corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been researched widely in recent years, however, micro-level CSR has recently gained attention. Employees are more influenced by employee related internal CSR initiatives than the external CSR activities. Internal CSR ensures favorable behavior of employees towards their employer which leads towards better organizational performance. OBJECTIVE: This study investigates the impact of internal corporate social responsibility (CSR) on public sector employees’ engagement through Organizational Pride (OP). Further, the study considers moderating role of empathy between internal CSR and employee engagement (EE) METHODS: Quantitative research design was developed and theoretical …framework was investigated through a survey of 430 employees of public sector in Pakistan. SmartPLS was used and partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used for hypothesis testing RESULTS: The results showed that the internal CSR directly influences EE. Secondly, the mediation of OP between internal CSR and EE is also supported. However, the results do not significantly support moderation of empathy between internal CSR and EE. CONCLUSIONS: Public sector organizations should actively contribute in employees well- being through internal CSR activities especially on skills development, work-life balance and employment stability. Abstract: BACKGROUND: For last decade, human resource (HR) function has had to move from its traditional operational, administrative role towards a more strategic role. In the light of transformation and drawing upon business partnering concept (the most well-known Ulrich model), a new formal position of an HR business partner, who acts as an HR subject-matter expert for the leaders of that particular business, has been established in some organisations. Although previous literature suggests the involvement of human resource management (HRM) in the development and implementation of socially responsible business activities, there is a lack of evidence on HR professionals’ role …regarding internal corporate social responsibility (CSR), which implies behaviour towards employees. OBJECTIVE: To reveal the role of an HR business partner while developing and implementing internal CSR activities. METHODS: Qualitative research; semi-structured interviews with employees working as HR business partners in the banking sector were conducted. RESULTS: The results revealed a significant HR business partner role in addressing internal CSR, in terms of work-life balance (WLB), diversity and inclusion, learning and development, and psychological and physical well-being. CONCLUSIONS: The research results expand the knowledge on the link between HRM and internal CSR. Abstract: BACKGROUND: Many studies are focused on traditional (old) or modern (new) industrial policy. There are insufficient studies linking the emergence of the knowledge economy and the institutional requirements to underpin inclusive social and economic development in developed or developing countries. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the knowledge economy and the institutional requirements for more inclusive and sustainable socio-economic developments. Constraints of the international economic law in its current form for more inclusive and sustainable industrial policy in developed and developing countries will be put forward. The inclusive knowledge economy requires not only innovative …advanced firms but also innovative and creative public sector employees capable of supporting and disseminating opportunities of the knowledge economy to the entire society. Moreover, the inclusive knowledge economy requires lifelong learning processes of the workforce in developed and developing economies. Therefore, a human dimension, broad participation, and shaping of modern development strategies a key to developing an inclusive and sustainable knowledge economy. Institutional constraints of the international economic framework are currently not adequately supportive of such a structural shift. The objective of this study is to show the possible adjustments at the international and national levels to support the development of an inclusive knowledge economy. The human dimension (participation, creativity, imagination) of the public and private sector goes hand in hand with institutional innovations. METHODS: The normative and institutional analysis, embedded in the historical context of industrialization patterns in the selected countries, will provide insights into the institutional requirements for an inclusive knowledge economy. RESULTS: The result of the conceptual and normative as well as empirical comparative analysis will provide insights into the possibilities and needs for institutional innovations at the regional, national, and supranational levels of polity while embracing the need for a more supportive international normative context. Several possible institutional innovations at the national levels, such as regional public venture funds, decentralized support, and training centers, are provided. A reform of the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures to better delineate between potentially productive and harmful subsidies at the international level can be seen as a reform proposal at the international level. CONCLUSIONS: Industrial policies in developed and developing countries will not be able to address the social and economic divides between advanced and stagnating sectors of the economy without addressing the requirements for institutional innovations at all levels of the international polity. The study measures dimensions of organizational culture and how they impact the success of digital transformation projects. METHODS: 264 employees from various firms …provided information via a questionnaire, and the study used Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with AMOS software to evaluate the information and develop the proposed conceptual framework. RESULTS: The results demonstrate that employee empowerment has a positive and significant impact on digital transformation, while new organizational practice, support of change, and teamwork do not. CONCLUSIONS: These findings are crucial for advancing the current understanding of the role of organizational culture in the success of digital transformation projects. The productive operational chain with a multi-sequence activity processed by human labor becomes critical. OBJECTIVE: The paper aims to identify Industry 4.0 and 5.0 concepts in both scientific …character and pragmatic relevance, useful for productive organizations performing in the current business with difficult predictability environment. METHODS: The methodology approach the grounded theories, combining the inductive and deductive methods. Next to the data collection provided from other authors research, a qualitative method apply to several case studies as empirical methodology to explore the situations in which the designed model has not a single set of outcomes. Small and medium enterprises in particular confront issues, such as insufficiency of devising strategic planning, strategic decision-making, and information exchange, as well as difficulty increasing performance. Because functional strategic management and decision-making are required, strategic information systems planning is employed to accumulate information and assist decision-makers in developing and implementing the best strategy for gaining superior performance. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of …this article is to investigate how strategic information systems planning contributes to increased performance in SMEs. METHODS: Data was gathered through questionnaires distributed to information system executives in SMEs, primarily in Jordan. The data was collected with the help of questionnaires adopted from prior studies. For Analysis after applying the diagnostic tests, structural equation modelling has been applied to test the framework developed based on the literature. RESULTS: A structural equation modeling (SEM) was conducted, the individual loadings of the SEM items are investigated, reliability and discriminant validity is tested, and path coefficients of hypothesized relationships of the developed model are tested. CONCLUSIONS: The findings suggested that managers should prioritize implementing strategic information systems planning so that they can gain superior performance with better agility in the future. This research not only enhances the current understanding of the significance of strategic information systems planning but also assists supervisors to improve the procedure. Show more
